Hierarchical modules and software selection, 23 October 2018
Modern HPC systems in academic use have a vast variety of software package installed. Selecting the correct software, required for the task at hand, is often not easy. This seminar offers guidance on how to navigate the module system deployed at Lunarc and within SNIC.
This seminar addresses existing and prospective users at all levels. It will explain the rational behind the module system, how to search for software, how to make software available and avoiding the pitfalls. It discusses both, the needs of users utilising available packages and the needs of those users that use the provided software (e.g. compilers, libraries and utilities) to build their own software packages.
The event is organised as an informal lunchtime seminar – you are welcome to bring your lunch along. The seminar will be held in English.
