SUMMARY:An introduction to parallel programming using Message Passing with 
 MPI 
DESCRIPTION:Contact: jonas.lindemann@lunarc.lu.se\n\nThis online course is 
 at the beginners level and assumes no prior experience in parallel computi
 ng. The concepts behind message passing and distributed memory computing w
 ill be introduced and the syntax of the key MPI calls will be explained. T
 he course will include point-to-point communications\, non-blocking commun
 ication and the collective communications calls.&nbsp\; Practical sessions
  to deepen the understanding of the lectures will be part of the course. A
 t the end of the course participants should be able to write their own MPI
  programs at an intermediate level. The teaching language will be English.
 The course forms part of the NAISS training program.EligibilityIt is open 
 to NAISS users\, prospective NAISS users and academics throughout the Nord
 ic region.Pre-requisitesParticipants should be able to write simple progra
 ms in one or more of C\, C++\, Fortran or Python.&nbsp\; Basic knowledge o
 f UNIX/LINUX is beneficial.&nbsp\;For the hand-on part participants should
  have access to a laptop or desktop computer\, which is connected to the i
 nternet. &nbsp\; Participants with accounts or course accounts on COSMOS a
 t LUNARC can access the system via ThinLinc (Read the Docs' website) or ss
 h.Time and locationThe course will run on 16\, 17\, 23 and 24 September 20
 25.&nbsp\; The course will start at 09:00 and finish at 12:30 each day.The
  course will be taught over zoom.&nbsp\;A zoom link will be provided to re
