LUNARC’s Aurora service will be closing on 22nd June - migrate to COSMOS

– Published 29 May 2023

LUNARC’s Aurora service will be discontinued on the 22nd of June.  All users still utilising Aurora nodes are requested to migrate their work to the new COSMOS system.   The currently remaining Aurora nodes are intended for those users who have tried to use COSMOS, but can not do so because their software is unavailable.   If you belong to this user group make yourself known immediately to the LUNARC support team and discuss your issues and software needs.

After 22nd of June staff availability at LUNARC will be limited.  It might be impossible to support users facing issues relating to application software until late summer or early autumn.  If you have issues regarding software availability you are requested to contact LUNARC support now.

Users who build their own software are recommended to rebuild their applications for COSMOS, using the appropriate compiler setting for the new architecture.

Documentation on how to connect to COSMOS is available on the LUNARC documentation website.  For many users the LUNARC HPC desktop is the most convenient way of utilising LUNARC’s services.   We equally support users who want to connect via ssh from a command line in a terminal.
