New SMP Resource
The new smp machine, sweet16.lunarc.lu.se, is now available for lunarc users.
The machine is a 4*4 cpu Opteron 850 (2,4 GHz) with 16Gb on each node. Currently the mpi implementation only permits communication between nodes and not between processsors within nodes. We are working on that issue.
All software available on docenten is also available on sweet16, and the same queue scrips can be used.
The machine is intended for jobs that need large amounts of memory and/or can make use of the SMP architecture for parallel execution.
